1. The Court Layout
The pickleball court looks similar to a badminton court but has unique zones that directly impact gameplay.
Key Areas:
Baseline: Where most serves are made
Non-Volley Zone (Kitchen): Players cannot volley the ball here
Service Courts: Determines where each serve must land
👉 Golden Rule: Stay out of the kitchen when volleying — it’s one of the most common faults for beginners.
2. The Double-Bounce Rule
This rule keeps rallies fair and prevents aggressive net attacks right from the serve.
How it works:
The serve must bounce once on the receiving side.
The return must bounce once before the serving team hits it.
After two bounces, players may volley or play the ball off the bounce.
✅ Result: Longer rallies and more strategic play.
3. Serving Basics
A strong serve sets the tone for the entire point.
Serve Requirements:
✔ Underhand motion
✔ Paddle contact below the waist
✔ Serve diagonally across the court
✔ Keep at least one foot behind the baseline
⚠️ Remember: Only the serving team can score points.
